I was looking for a lighter weight blanket, in white, which seems to be impracticable to find. I like the fact that this is reversible. It is thinner, but subdue good for the summer months here in the deep south. I am coming up to see how it holds up to it's first wash.bring up to date 05/21/13This blanket washed well, including no problems. The only problem I have had is that it seems susceptible to holes, as from my cats' in trade claws....not big holes. It force just be the material on the striped side. - Coloradogirl2013
