China banking worries 'way overblown': Wilbur Ross

China's credit transmission mechanism is dead: Expert

John Rutledge, SAFANAD chief investment strategist, and Leland Miller, China Beige Book International president, share their thoughts on China's structural problems and whether the country is facing a banking crisis.

Miller told CNBC that the Chinese credit transmission mechanism has been broken for the past few quarters, and that central bankers there will have a hard time trying to resolve the situation.

(Read more: Are China's shadow banking woes exaggerated?)

"How do you do that while punishing intermediaries and teaching investors a lesson?" Miller asked on CNBC. "What you're probably going to have to do is slowly pull away the lemonade. This is a very difficult thing to do. We have come out very decisively over the past few quarters and said the credit transmission mechanism is dead."

John Rutledge, the chief investment strategist with Safanad, said Monday that China has a "structural" problem when it comes to the high-yield trusts. They don't carry any risk, and they've become the credit source of choice among smaller companies that can't secure capital from large Chinese banks, he said.

"The ways they've gotten [capital] is through these trust companies but also through these black market loans," Rutledge told CNBC. "And finding a way to feed those companies' working capital in a steady way is what China really needs to in order to guarantee long-term stability."

The troubles within Chinese credit markets, and the ripple effects in the U.S. stock market, are a sign of investors' "unwinding" positions in light of potential higher U.S. interest rates, Rutledge said.

DC Comic Batman Comfy Throw - Superhero Fleece Blanket Sleeves Customer Reviews

At the start the box was all beat up, torn, and taped together - what the heck? Then as it was full out, it didn't have the cowl/mask. At the calculate of hold, I'd planning I was careful to click on the right manufactured goods. I estimate this wasn't it.
- Christopher D. Miyamoto "Domi"

I got this for my son for Christmas; he's 6'1" tall, and I was worried in this area result something lingering ample for him. It is perfect, even if, and he loves it!
- Paige Beal

Like other reviewers, I also saw the price jacked way up as Christmas approached. I bit the bullet for my mad Batman-indulgent friend and bought this on Nov 30, 2011, for almost sixty bucks. It in fact got to me in less than a week, maybe just three or four days on free super saver shipping, so I was pleased with that. I was in the DC area.As for the real manufactured goods, it's all soft fabric inside the box so there was not anything to worry about in terms of breaking. Not anything was torn, it was in good shape up. The cardboard box looked abstractedly squished in on one side, but I personally do not care since it doesn't affect the blanket. My attitude of the fabric is that it's not thick as far as blankets go but clad ample to give you some love if you're at home and the heat's not high ample. It's big ample for adults. And as for my friend, he was really, really happy. And you don't even know, since I can't even describe it. He happened to be wearing a "WW[batsymbol]D" shirt that day too. For me, it was worth it. The manufactured goods was perfect and so was his upshot. That's why I'm rating 5 stars, even for paying a lot more. When this item is back in stock, I hope it will be back to the habitual price (about 27-28 dollars), and won't run out at Christmas again. I had a really good experience with it and it's really awkward not all got to have the same.
- Emily Li "Emily L."

What do you get for the self who has all Batman? Why, a Batman Snuggie, of way!! Even if this is an off-brand, it was shipped in a suitable style and basically tracked owing to the whole administer. My supporter I gave it to loves it, and he actualy makes use of it in chill months. Good for a gag gift or a honest one.
- Kara Young

Bought this bad boy about 6 months ago.Pros:SnuggieBatmanConversation pieceCons:Too comfortable to fight crime in
- Syed Ahmed

Splendid batman snuggie. It's not one of the ones including the hood/cowel but it looks splendid when it's on. It's just the aptly part so be cautious if you are export it for a really tall nature. Thanks! Shipping was fast and product was in splendid shape up. No concerns
- Jenn m

My son is a 22 year old adult and he categorically luvs his batman snuggie. I am so glad I found this for him.
- Debi

I ordered this for my best supporter who is a enormous Batman fan. I ordered it as a birthday present, and luckily I gone a lot of calculate to spare. This snuggie was NOT what I probable and looked nothing like the depiction. The one I expected was blue and was one of the ones with a hood, which I did not want! My supporter is 6'2, so I knew it would by now be a tad small on her, and the hood was a touch I was tiresome to dodge since it would be a nuisance to her. unpleasantly be sending this back -- be grateful goodness I didn't spend too greatly money on this!
- Erin

This was a birthday present for my 17 year old son as our computer opportunity gets chilly even as he's doing his homework. The cool Batman graphics were perfect, it even had a hood! He uses it even as watching TV too.
- lmsparky

As I peruse the tops of buildings late at night it can get very cold, and spandex body suits don't keep one very warm, even with the shorts, hood and cape. So I figured this would be an excellent way to keep warm on persons cold chill nights while I attentively watch for crime. To be sure it does. The nice fleece-type material and generous sleeve provision has gone a long way to prevent a do again of that frostbite business last year (I told the urgent situation room I was at a attire party... my bolt from the blue self once over again completely protected). However there are some noteworthy drawbacks I still have to work out.* It's nearly impracticable to run in this business. The blanket gets wrapped up between the knees and makes a graceful hazzard-- especially dangerous near building ledges. I fervently urge promptly removing it before answering a call of duty to chase some villainous scum across the city. If you carry on the run into you can always go back for it later.* This item does not anything to increase deflection of bullets. You will still need to wear your super vest.* Don't think for one following you can use this to fly off the top of rooftops down to the ground like the movies. It won't work and it doesn't even moderate the fall. Entrust me on this one.* If anyone sees you in this, you won't get any more laughs and jeers than normal. Just snub them and dredge up you are protecting the good citizens of your city. That's what counts.* Be sure to use an anti-static sheet if washing or drying. If not the static buildup can be noteworthy. You don't want such charges setting off any of the collection you keep in your utility belt. Entrust me on that one too.So all in all I have to say this has been a important item. For persons who just use this at home... be balanced you are safe as I and others like me (wherever they may be-- I'm sure they're out there somewhere) will be attentively watching to keep you safe and sound.... it does get a bit lonely now and again though. I mean, if I only had a associate, but I place of safeguard't establish one yet. Or a FEMALE counterpart... like CATWOMAN! Yeah... possibly if they make this in Catwoman stylishness... there is always hope...

Northpoint Sapphire King Sherpa Blanket, Burgundy User Reviews

Northpoint Sapphire King Sherpa Blanket, Burgundy User ReviewsWhen I first pulled this blanket out of the box, I was a little disappointed by how thin the blanket felt. The blanket comes folded, just like you see in the picture. The first thing I felt was the thickness of the flap that is accessible. This blanket is made with two layers, the white and the green or whatever color you choose. The white layer is "very" comfortable and as my wife puts it; "cuddley". While the blanket appears thin, the dual layer really does make the blanket warm, and flexible, without being too gray. I like to sleep with just a blanket, and previous to this one, I would sleep with just one fleece blanket. This blanket has now become my favorite and the standard. It is very warm, soft, flexible, set alight but gray enough.......It's tricky to explain, but "perfect" comes to mind. What I can say to purchasers is; this is an excellent price for a great quality blanket that will definitely please any blanket aficionado.
- S. Hunt

I bought this blanket for my wife to use in the car as she camps out waiting for an estate sale to start. She loves it, our dogs tenderness it, my family tree tenderness it. It is very gentle and lukewarm. This blanket spends all it's calculate in the family tree opportunity. Used daily as a mega-toss
- Paul

This blanket is soft, lavish, warm and I LOVE it! I think it is a splendid blanket for the price. I had a down comforter on my bed and hated jumping into a cold bed on extremely cold nights. That is no longer a problem with this blanket. It feels warm, lavish, soft, and snuggly from the moment you climb into bed. I too think they could improve the style and point by tacking it in some places to keep the two layers collectively, as others have said, but for the price you can't go wrong.
- E. L. Hamann "I love my Siberian Huskies"

It's warm, it's soft, and extremely cozy. I washed mine right away (didnt have any kind of chemical smell like additional reviewers mentioned, but I reflect it's just good policy to wash new fabrics immediately), and it came out just fine. No issues with stitching or the two layers. Doesnt shed any, which is splendid.I got the burgundy, which is a very rich, almost shiny red. Reflect like Santa's coat, red. Almost has a royal robe look to it. I couldnt be happier with the purchase.
- David Learned

I expected this blanket promptly. I washed it according to the instructions and I judge it is a great manufactured goods. The only concern I be inflicted with is with the intention of as I washed the blanket,it bunched together at the stiches in certain areas of the blanket. It is extremely gentle and comfy and fits the bed wonderfully.
- miccingen

I received this blanket, and it is very soft and warm. Even though it is thin, it's soothe very warm. I didn't give it 5 stars because of its size. I purchased a queen size. And the blanket only hangs over about 2 inches. If I purchase this again I urge you buy a king for a queen bed. This blanket runs very small in size.
- K. Kelsey

I was in tension that this blanket would be like the be a inhabitant Pool one I purchased at TJ Maxx last chill, and it is accurate, but not practically the feature. This blanket is in fact two pieces of fabric sewn collectively at the edge seams, very than a dual sided blanket collected of microfiber on one side and lambswool-like fabric on the additional, in some way heat melded collectively or natural fiber as one cut, which is how my additional blanket was manufactured.I am a modest apprehensive in this area how this blanket will hold up once I need to wash it, in view of the fact that the two pieces are held collectively at the edge seams. On the plus side, the blanket is frivolous and warm.
- M. Shea

I bought this item for my self, but when my son left for college he want it to take with him. So I'm without my blanket in anticipation of my other one comes in. What we don't do for our kid !
- Carol Noel

Washed before use, as aimed at and it didn't actually shed. It's extremely light but warm and dare I do again, extremely soft. I use them as furniture throws. The only thing that may possibly perfect this blanket is a few quilting stitches, but I'm lucky including it.
- Dianne McCarthy "metahead"

One of the softest blankets I have owned. Feels be fond of go wrapped in heaven. I aggree with additional reviews with the intention of here should be some type of quilting to keep the two pieces together. I still be in this world it and the sapphire affect is great.
- Martha M. Shaw

Hudson Bay Blankets - 6 Point Queen Size Wool Blanket - Pink Stripe User Reviews

These have been a family pet for years. Only problem is that they actually do not make a blanket for a dual bed. The 4 top is for a twin and the 6 top is for a queen. If you have a dual, go with the 6 top for good "coverage."
- Jim P

We be in this planet in a climate including the intention of is cool all summer and mild all chill, so we use our blanket extremely near all time almost, ordinarily ended a set of charming have a discussion sheets. In the chill we lukewarm the bed including a heated mattress pad and top it including a comforter. It's so neat and here's not a lot of gray consequence, as we use no additional blanket.Yes, it's a bit high-priced, but will continue for decades, so planning-out it an investment in your affect. You call for your surplus! Additional blankets won't care for you lukewarm, and will grind out surrounded by your calculate. This one is an heirloom. We be inflicted including no heirs so I'm wondering who to house it to in my will. Amazon's fee, by the way, is practically skilled for this fastidious blanket. Seahawks, Pete Carroll finally have their championship week

Originally published January 18, 2014 at 12:31 AM | Page modified January 18, 2014 at 8:47 PM

RENTON As Pete Carroll met the media four days before the Seahawks played their season opener at Carolina, he excitedly declared the championship season is on.

And every week since, Carroll has used some version of that phrase, often settling on calling each game a championship opportunity, be it Jacksonville in September, St. Louis in October or Tampa Bay in November.

Finally, though, comes a real, true, undisputed championship opportunity as the Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at CenturyLink Field with the NFC title and a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII on the line.

Its one, in fact, that might be as big as any championship opportunity in Seattle sports history given the ever-increasing interest in the Seahawks and the heightened intensity of the rivalry with the 49ers.

But the Seahawks insist they will treat the game no differently than they did those against the Jaguars, Rams or Bucs or even as they would a July practice even if the prize for beating the 49ers would be the teams second Super Bowl appearance in 38 years as a franchise.

Its that mentality treating each day, each game, the same as that they say got them here, and the one they say can take them to New Jersey on Feb. 2.

Everybody thinks thats (BS) when we say that, said receiver Doug Baldwin. But its not. We honestly believe when we go into a week that its a brand new week, the most important week of our lives at that point. So it doesnt change.

No doubt, thats easier said than done.

Seattle players, though, say buying into that concept has been critical in going along with everything else Carroll has tried to instill since taking over as coach in 2010.

It sounds good to say, said fullback Michael Robinson. But when you are going through the grind of the National Football League every week, you start to say to yourself, Man, this is not a championship game. But this year, and some last year, you started to really feel it. Every single game had that juice about it, that electricity about it. And that came from us it wasnt the media hyping the game or something like that. It came from us. So I feel like this team is growing up.

Or as linebacker K.J. Wright said of treating Sundays game the same as any other, Its not a factor with us. Weve had hype throughout the whole season. Everybody has been watching us. Its just football to us. We know everybody will be watching and its a big game. But at the same time, weve just got to go do what we do.

Certainly, thats worked well against the 49ers in the past, particularly in Seattle, a formula the Seahawks will try to replicate.

Seattle has beaten the 49ers by a combined 71-16 in the past two games at CenturyLink, including a 29-3 win Sept. 15. Those two wins stand as among the biggest testaments to the power of Seattles home-field advantage, and why winning one more regular-season game than the 49ers Seattle was 13-3 to San Franciscos 12-4 proved so vital.

In each game between the teams in Seattle the past two years, the Seahawks were able to shut down San Franciscos running attack (especially running back Frank Gore, held to a combined 44 yards) and force quarterback Colin Kaepernick to beat them, instead. Kaepernick couldnt do it, particularly in the game earlier this year when he recorded a career-low passer rating of 20.1, throwing a career-high three interceptions.

San Franciscos receiving corps, though, is healthier now, notably with the return of Michael Crabtree.

Offensively, Seattle got Marshawn Lynch going in each home game (a combined 198 yards), which helped set up quarterback Russell Wilson for timely big plays.

Seattle had the second-most rushing attempts in the NFL this year (509) and the 49ers were third (505). They were the bottom two teams in passing attempts (Seattle 420, the 49ers 417).

We know them really well, they know us well, Wright said. Its just going to come down to who wants it the most. Who hits the hardest.

Or as offensive tackle Breno Giacomini put it: They dont do much on defense, so its really just us executing, just targeting right on the runs and the pass, beating your guy.

If the Seahawks do that, then a chance at football immortality awaits. If they get there, then, they say, maybe theyll acknowledge its more than just a regular championship opportunity.

If were fortunate enough to make it to next week, we might sit there and think, Man, weve made it to the big game, said cornerback Richard Sherman. But were not at the big game.

Just one step away.

Pendleton Eco-Wise Wool Washable Queen Espresso Blanket Purchaser Reviews

This is a dream blanket. A lovely color, very well made, warm and light, it is perfect for the coldest of times. I use it under a down comforter and it delivered when Colorado just had a 10 day Artic experience. I was not cold at all once under the covers. Moreover, this blanket is washable wool which I have not put to the test. Another great feature. Highly recommeded for those seeking not uncomfortable wool. A evenhanded price for the feature rounds out its great features.
- PAG

I formerly purchased a Hudson-bay 90 x 100, 6 top queen wool blanket for my elderly care for. I won't disorder from whom but be enough it to say that I was exciting a 15 percent reshelving fee on a $319.00 diplomacy, in addition to having to pay $20.00 to UPS. I returned the Hudson-bay blanket in view of the fact that, even even if it was the sincere blanket I have ever felt, it was also very gray, too gray for my care for. What I hadn't anticipated was paying near $70.00 for a restore. As I am not a huge buyer, I didn't even reflect of read-owing to the restore plan. Had I done so, I would have washed-out a few superfluous dollars and bought from Amazon frankly or a companionship like Pendleton, which would have not levied a 15 percent fee on top of an by now high-priced item. As far as this Pendleton Eco-Wise washable wool blanket, it is all one force estimate in a feature hold. At the outset, it is more of a chocolate auburn than espresso in my attitude but, any way, it is spectacular. The Hudson-bay blanket was Kelly conservational, all 90 x 100 inches of it, a exact addition for wrapping oneself in Philadelphia Eagles conservational on game day, but a real eyesore even as meeting in your kitchen, staring into your at the initiation baffle bedroom. The consequence of this blanket is exact for an elderly self who may not be able to toss a gray blanket like a Hudson-bay over themselves. I was apprehensive that a washable blanket force not have the ply of a Hudson-bay blanket, but this Pendleton is MORE than ample to keep oneself cozy on the bitterest of nights. In sum, this blanket is warm, set alight, devious, and a very elegant shade of auburn. I would urge it to anyone who is looking for the comfort and luxury of feature wool without life weighed down by a giant take in or lost within the folds of a Down blanket.

Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes made his film scoring debut with J.C. Chandor's "All is Lost," known for ts cast of one -- Robert Redford -- alone at sea on a boat. He's ready for more.

"I found it liberating after 15 years of verse-chorus-verse," Ebert says. "One of the reasons that I love doing this is that the interaction with the director regarding the story -- the music needs to expose the inside and that's a wonderful process."

Ebert's early exposure to film music was through a couple of scores his father listened to when the musician was young, specifically "Chariots of Fire" and "The Mission." As an older musician he fell in love with Ennio Morricone's 1960s work, which he says definitely influences Edward Sharpe, and after meeting Chandor the first time, he learned that they shared a love for "The Mission."

They had only one meeting. Ebert's premise was that the film needed a a considerable amount of silence, suggesting "we could do a song where one note happens and couple minutes go by and a second note happens and 49 seconds go by and it's the interval, and then the song finally appears."

Ebert discussed the score and writing outside Edward Sharpe with Billboard.

Once you got past a shared love of Morricone what was your plan of attack? We talked about music that is lyrical and melodious and it set the premise for me to be able to include melody in this movie. It's a very neo-realist, stark reality-based piece of poetry. It's easy to incorporate toney drones -- how do you get the melody in there and bring out the emotion?

Obviously that's a difficult task as the film has so much silence. The most difficult [aspect] was 'how does something with melody that is not of this world come in?' It has to be galvanizing. It would be an emotion that wants to speak, but because there is no one to speak to, there is music. There ended up being a theme that was not his voice, but the voice of surrender, his fate calling to him. greatest triumph of the score. what I wanted to do and was able to do is to have a theme that sort of presented another character that was calling to him.

You used a lot of out-of-the-ordinary instruments. Could you discuss a few of them?Instead of just using a low droney tone, we played all these Tibetan crystal bowls and bowed bass, banged on a drum here and there. The Tibetan bowls are made for meditation and made in different intervals, and the first time I heard them I could not believe how sonorous they were. It totally permeates the whole being. I approached this movie as a spiritual allegory so it made sense to use the bowls. I tried the oboe before I tried the alto flute, but what I found is that the oboe is Morricone's, to my mind anyway. As soon as I used the oboe, it was like wearing his red sweater, though there is oboe in the theme.

Where did you record and what did you play?It was mostly done in Ojai, though I recorded some of it in New Orleans [his current home]. I played the bowls, some acoustic guitar and all of the synth underneath some of the strings. I played everything on keyboard and then replaced the strings on the lower stuff. I kept some of the synthetic stuff in there. And I sang and whistled.

You performed the score and the song "Amen" at a private show in Los Angeles. It was a moving experience and you never know how those things work because you never listen to the music in one straight shot. Have you done it again?I almost cried. I got choked up, probably during the chorus of 'Amen.' That was the first time I played it live and I hope I play it again.

What's ahead in 2014?I 'm writing a lot and I don't know where it will go. I imagine a solo album. Another score. I've been talking to do some directors. I'd really like to do an album of orchestral music for no reason. I grew up around a lot of classical music and when I was a lot younger I used to concoct classical pieces in my head. It went away, but it has come back. At the same time, the American part of my brain says 'what are you going to use that for? Who's going to listen?' But I think it would just be fun. It feels so pure. I'm also writing books. One is non-fiction, 'Kingdom of Cool,' a history of cool as a movement, as a philosophy. It's blowing my mind. I'm writing a screenplay that's a musical. A lot of the story is based on a story Heath Ledger and I were talking about. He was going to direct a movie about chess and he decided he didn't want to do that anymore, so we were going to do this musical where we play brothers bumbling through the dessert. It's a 'Withnail and I' in the desert, as he would call it.

Michael Bay Explains 'Embarrassing' Teleprompter Fail

The words "Michael Bay" and "script issues" are often found in the same sentence, but yesterday, that sentence made some room for another word: "Awkward."

The "Transformers" filmmaker was in Las Vegas this week as part of Samsung's CES 2014 Press Conference, scheduled to appear in support of the company's new UHD curved television displays. But Bay's onstage appearance went very wrong, very fast, when his teleprompter stopped working mid-speech.

Bay was on stage with Samsung executive Joe Stinziano at the time, and a video (that has since been pulled) shows Stinziano doing his best to put the conversation back on track. But Bay never recovered from the teleprompter malfunction; after a few seconds of stalling, he excused himself and exited the stage.

News of Bay's walkout spread throughout CES and, eventually, the Internet, with everybody from Internet Troll #16 to Megatron taking the opportunity to slam the "Transformers" director. For his part, Bay issued a statement of his own, owning his part in the awkward event.

"Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES," he wrote on his official website. "I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the teleprompter went up and down then I walked off. I guess live shows aren't my thing."

On the bright side, it looks like Bay will have a chance at redemption, as he added, "I'm doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world."

Bay's next "Transformers" movie, "Age of Extinction," hits theaters on June 27.
